Article Processing Charges (APC)
Trends in Biomaterials and Artificial Organs publishes all its articles as fully Open Access (OA). OA provides free and immediate online access to the scholarly literature for anyone in the world to read, unlimited use, distribute and reuse of articles in addition to giving credit to the authors. All the articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license.
An article processing charge (APC) is a fee charged to authors to make their work available as open access. This fee may be paid by the author, the author’s institution, or their research funder. Trends in Biomaterials and Artificial Organs charge an APC to partially cover the costs involved in the publication process, from administrating peer-review to copy editing, production of articles and hosting the final article on dedicated servers. Articles that are accepted for publication by our editors following rigorous peer review incur a publishing fee charged to authors, institutions, or funders at the rate of Rs. 2000/- per article (of up to 8 printed pages). Additional charges may apply if length of the articles are more than 8 pages. Please note that the option of OA payment does not guarantee acceptance of manuscripts. Article Processing Charge need to be paid only after the manuscripts are transferred to production, once it is accepted for publication.
Discounts and waivers
Discounts and waivers are offered to the members of the partner societies, SBAOI and STERMI.
Payment of publication charges
When submitting an article to TIBAO Open Access journal, the submitting author must attest that the corresponding author will pay the publication charge minus any eligible discount. After acceptance, the article will enter the production cycle and the corresponding author will be asked to remit payment as applicable. The corresponding author assumes responsibility for the article publication charge, and TIBAO or SBAOI will not issue refunds for any reason.
Payment can be made online via a secure payment platform. An invoice will be send to the corresponding author along with the payment instructions, when the article is accepted for publication, before the manuscript is transferred for typesetting and production. The online transaction charges (about Rs. 49/-) will be in addition to the amount of Rs. 2000/- per manuscript.
Submitted papers should be well-prepared, with good English and clear figures. Authors should resolve issues prior to publication, e.g., in response to reviewer feedback, or risk delays and even rejection.
