Open Access Policy

Statement of Commitment

Trends in Biomaterials and Artificial Organs is an open access journal with all its content freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. We believe that immediate, barrier-free access to research in biomaterials, tissue engineering, and artificial organs accelerates scientific discovery and facilitates the global exchange of knowledge.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

To provide open access, the journal has a "Gold" Open Access model. This means that instead of charging readers for subscriptions, the journal charges a one-time Article Processing Charge (APC) to the authors, their institutions, or their funders upon the acceptance of a manuscript.

  • Fee Amount: The current APC for Trends in Biomaterials and Artificial Organs is ₹2,000 / $50].

  • Purpose of the Fee: This fee covers part of the costs of the peer review process, professional copyediting, typesetting, long-term archiving, and the technical infrastructure required to host the article.

  • Payment Timing: The APC is only payable after a manuscript has been peer-reviewed and officially accepted for publication. No fees are charged for submission or for manuscripts that are rejected.

  • Waiver Policy: The journal offers full or partial waivers for authors who are members of the Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs and from low-income countries or those with demonstrated financial hardship. Requests for waivers must be submitted at the time of initial manuscript submission.
