Abstract

Human identification remains difficult in a variety of scenarios, and forensic odontologist’s use of dental comparison analysis employing antemortem/postmortem data remains the primary scientific approach for identification. Dental implant placement is a routine treatment that has grown in popularity over the previous two decades. Identification of dental implants and prostheses may be a useful technique in forensic investigation due to the increasing popularity of dental implants and prostheses, as well as the availability of tools such as radiography and artificial intelligence-based models. The current research focuses on the prospective way of identifying implant systems and their morphological features that can provide forensic odontologists with auxiliary information that can be a supportive or pathognomonic confirmation of identity.
