Abstract

The current pandemic due to covid-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus has brought a global lockdown. Presently, there is no vaccine or medication available for this disease and huge number of lives are being lost and more so in the western countries. Various discipline scientists are involved in fast track research in understanding the pathogenesis of Covid-19. Still, supportive therapy is the mainstay treatment for laboratory tested SARS-CoV-2 positive patients. Tissue engineering plays a very broad but vital role by performing research in the in-vitro tissue models, development of vaccine platforms, drug screening and delivery systems. This article will briefly review such tissue engineering strategies possible in Covid-19 research and management.
