Abstract

Advances in imaging, computer technology and prototyping have allowed three dimensional (3-D) reconstructions of complex craniofacial defects. In this report, we present a simulation system of image reconstruction from computed tomography (CT) of a hemifacial microsomia patient by mirror imaging and developing an accurate 3-D virtual model and fabrication of a rapid prototype model of the whole mandible by fused deposition modelling.
